Hosdurg Sub District Science Fair- on 25 Nov 2010

Hosdurg SubDistrict Science, Social Science, Mathematics, Work Experience, IT Mela 2010-11 

will be conducted on 25&26 November 2010 at GVHSS Ambalathara.

Science, Social Science and IT Mela will be held on 25 November 2010.
Mathematics & Work Experience Mela will be held on 26 November 2010.

Registration:

22 November 2010(Monday) from 10 AM.

Registration Fee for each section: UP=75/-, HS=200/-, HSS=300/-

Sub District Level Science Quiz, Science Talent Search Examination(HS)

         Sub District Level Science Quiz Competitions and Science Talent Search Examination(HS section) will be held on 22/11/2010  at GVHSS Ambalathara. 

   Registration starts from 10 AM. The competitions will start from 10 AM in the order LP, HSS, HS and UP sections respectively.
    The Competitions will be between 10 AM and 2 PM( the last item is Science Quiz -UP Section).
    The First place holders of School Level Competitions only are eligible to participate in the Sub District Quiz(LP,UP,HS & HSS) & Talent Search Examination (HS) Competition.

Science Quiz (School Level) - Hosdurg SubDistrict

         School Level Science Quiz competitions of Hosdurg SubDistrict are to be conducted on 15/11/2010 at 2 pm. The question paper for conducting the Quiz competitions in LP, UP, HS, HSS, VHSE sections and the question for Science Talent Search Examination(HS section) will be available at AEO Office, Hosdurg from 09/11/2010. The questions are to be received from the Hosdurg AEO Office before 12/11/2010(Friday) itself.
         SubDistrict Level Science Quiz Competitions and Science Talent Search Examination(HS section) will be held on 22/11/2010 (10 AM) at GVHSS Ambalathara

SEPTEMBER 18 - Software Freedom Day

   Circular No. NEP(3)-65064/09/2010/DPI dt. 17/09/2010 gives the directions to celebrate the Software Freedom Day at schools(HS & UP) on any of the days from 18/09/2010 to 22/09/2010.

Programs to be conducted: 
  1.  A small speech on Free Software Day in the morning assembly and a Pledge after that.
  2.  Speeches on Free Softwares, Seminars & IT competitions.

September 16-Ozone Day

      16 September the International Day or Ozone day celebrated for the past 10 years for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, proclaimed by The United Nations General Assembly on 19 December 1994. In 1987, the Montreal Protocol was signed by many countries on that day that were apprehensive about the depletion of the Ozone Layer due to this date was chosen for the celebration of World Ozone Day.

      Global stratospheric ozone levels have declined, which means that the ozone layer is changing. Stratospheric ozone has large natural temporal and spatial variations, up to 30 percent variation may be regarded as normal. However, we now have evidence of a significant thinning of the ozone layer during spring and summer. This is observed in both the northern and the southern hemispheres at middle and high latitudes. During the last 10-15 years, the ozone layer above the northern hemisphere has been reduced by 5-6 percent in spring per decade. The latest tests (January-March 1995) have shown very large reductions, with a maximum of more than 30 percent reduction compared to normal. 

        A depletion of the ozone layer will increase the UV-radiation at ground level. Increasing doses of UV-B may cause skin cancer, eye cataracts, damage to the immune system in animals as well as human beings, and have an adverse impact on plant growth.

Ozone-depleting gases

      The Ozone Depletion Potential; ODP, is described as a potential relative to that of CFC-11. The various ozone-depleting substances vary in the degree to which they contribute to the reduction of the ozone layer. Halons, for example, are more efficient than CFCs in depleting ozone, and therefore have a higher ODP. 

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), halons, methyl chloroform, methyl bromide, carbontetrachloride and several other chemicals are ozone-depleting substances.

ബാലശാസ്ത്ര കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ്സ്- ഏകദിന ശില്പശാല

 ബാലശാസ്ത്ര കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ്സിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി കാ‍‍ഞ്ഞങ്ങാട് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ ജില്ലയിലെ യു.പി, സെക്കന്ററി, ഹയര്‍ സെക്കന്ററി അദ്ധ്യാപകര്‍ക്കായി നടത്തിയ ഏകദിന ശില്പശാലയുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം 19/08/2010 ന് ജി.എച്ച്.എസ്സ്.എസ്സ് ഹോസ്ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗില്‍ ഡോ.വിജയന്‍(റിട്ട. പ്രിന്‍സിപ്പാള്‍ കാസര്‍ഗോഡ്) നിര്‍വ്വഹിച്ചു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അദ്ധ്യാപകര്‍ക്കായി പ്രൊജക്ട് തയ്യാറാക്കുന്നതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ക്ലാസ്സ് എടുത്തു.

   ചടങ്ങില്‍ ശ്രീ.ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ അഗ്ഗിത്തായ(ഹെഡ് മാസ്റ്റര്‍, ജി.എച്ച്.എസ്സ്.എസ്സ് ഹോസ്ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗ്) അദ്ധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു. ആക്ടിവിറ്റി ഗൈഡിന്റെ പ്രകാശനം ശ്രീ.സി.ഗംഗാധരന്‍(പ്രിന്‍സിപ്പാള്‍,ജി.എച്ച്.എസ്സ്.എസ്സ് ഹോസ്ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗ്) ഹോസ്ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗ് ഏ.ഇ.ഒ ശ്രീ.കെ.വി.പങ്കജാക്ഷന് നല്കി നിര്‍വ്വഹിച്ചു. ശ്രീമതി.ബേബിലത ടീച്ചര്‍, ശ്രീ.കെ.പി.ഗോപാലകൃഷ്ണന്‍ മാസ്റ്റര്‍, ശ്രീ.രാമചന്ദ്രന്‍ മാസ്റ്റര്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ ആശംസകള്‍ നേര്‍ന്നു. ബാലശാസ്ത്ര കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ്സ് കോര്‍ഡിനേറ്റര്‍ ശ്രീ.സി.പദ്മനാഭന്‍ മാസ്റ്റര്‍ സ്വാഗതവും ഹോസ്ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗ് സബ് ജില്ല സയന്‍സ് ക്ലബ്ബ് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ ജോ.സെക്രട്ടറി ഡോ.വി.അനിത നന്ദിയും പറ‍ഞ്ഞു.

  ജി.എച്ച്.എസ്സ്.എസ്സ് ഹോസ്ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനി പ്രിയങ്ക പ്രൊജക്ട് അവതരണം നടത്തി. വിവിധ വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നായി എഴുപതോളം അദ്ധ്യാപികാ  അദ്ധ്യാപകര്‍ ശില്പശാലയില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു.
